A Pre-Milestone Update: Daptar (दप्तर)'s prototype hardware is almost ready!

It took around a week to hand-assemble approximately 400 tiny (1mm) individual components. I ran some basic tests on the hardware, and most functionality appears to work as expected, with minor, non-critical issues. These issues are not blocking immediate progress.

Built four custom PCBs:

1. A carrier board for the main computer SOM (Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5)

2. A EMR based handwriting pad, which is placed beneath the e-ink display

3. A driver module for the pad (with a Raspberry Pi RP2040 on board)

4. An e-ink driver and power module (also featuring a Raspberry Pi RP2040 on board)

A huge shoutout to Mayank Jaiswal for building the assembly and enclosure for the tablet - the quality is excellent. We are working to 3D-print a final, higher-quality enclosure soon.

What’s Next:

1. Most of the immediate work now shifts to the firmware layer, specifically developing Linux drivers (the essential interface between software and hardware).

2. AI integration on the software layer, aiming for a voice-only, hands-free experience.

Specifications for the Tablet:

1. 6-inch E-ink display

2. Handwriting support with battery-free pen
